The International Cricket Council (ICC) has canceled a big announcement for the Champions Trophy due to issues with scheduling, especially for India’s matches. The ICC was supposed to reveal the schedule on November 11 in Lahore, but this has now been called off.

"We haven’t finalized the schedule yet. We are still discussing it with the host and the teams taking part. Once it’s confirmed, we’ll announce it through our usual channels," said an ICC official. This delay follows India’s decision not to travel to Pakistan for the tournament. The ICC has not responded to questions about the cancellation.
The ICC had planned a big event to start the 100-day countdown to the Champions Trophy, which is set for February 19 to March 19. However, scheduling issues have created problems. Some say the ICC might use the heavy smog in Lahore as a reason to delay the event. An official suggested this could be possible.

"It was just a trophy tour launch and a branding event," one official said, trying to downplay the situation around the schedule. "The event is still being planned, but it might be rescheduled since outdoor activities in Lahore are hard right now." A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) source confirmed that no event was planned for Monday.
The ICC and the host, PCB, will now likely use a "hybrid model" to hold the Champions Trophy, an idea that had been expected from the start. Plans were made, and money was set aside in case some games had to be moved out of Pakistan. It’s likely these matches will happen in the UAE.

India’s travel to Pakistan was always uncertain, and many are now questioning the ICC’s role in this issue. At a recent board meeting in Dubai, the ICC told its members that the tournament schedule would be announced on November 11. However, it’s not clear if everyone was fully informed about these plans, and recent events suggest this might not be the case.
After the board meeting, the BCCI officially informed the ICC that it hasn’t received permission from the Indian government to travel to Pakistan. However, the PCB says it has not received any official communication about this, either from the ICC or the BCCI.

"We have a clear stance: if the Indian cricket board has any issues, they should give it to us in writing," PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently told reporters in Lahore. "So far, we haven’t talked about a hybrid model, but we’re open to discussing it. If Indian media is reporting this, then maybe there is a letter the ICC or the Indian board has written. But as of now, no such letter has reached me or the PCB," he said.
It seems likely that the ICC and PCB will need to agree on a hybrid model, with UAE hosting India’s matches in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. India was originally scheduled to play Bangladesh on February 20, New Zealand on February 23, and Pakistan on March 1, all in Lahore. The PCB has planned to use Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Lahore as venues, but changes to the locations, if not the dates, of the 15-match tournament are likely.
